DFS NBA FanDuel Top Daily Plays: (12/22/2017)

Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Sports NBA FanDuel Top Daily Plays. This article will be featured daily, Monday through Friday during the regular season. I will rank the players according to overall value, with FanDuel’s scoring/salary in mind. These can typically be used on all sites, but use some common sense if another site scores differently or has a different salary. Remember, this is only a guide, and several factors may influence who you should select each day.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook (OKC): $11,500 vs. ATL

Russell Westbrook has been an outstanding DFS option again this season despite some believing his usage rate would drop significantly with the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. Those two additions have been underwhelming this season which has led Westbrook to dominating the usage rate again on the Thunder. Tonight he has a great matchup against the Hawks, who have been awful at defending opposing point guards this season.

Shabazz Napier (POR): $3,700 vs. DEN

Damian Lillard will be sitting out tonight's game with a hamstring injury which should open the door for huge minutes for Shabazz Napier tonight against the Nuggets. The Nuggets have been terrible at defending opposing point guards this season, allowing the second-most FanDuel points. Napier should be locked into your cash game contests tonight and is probably a chalk lock option for GPP contests as well.

Other options to consider: John Wall (WAS), Tyler Johnson (MIA), Spencer Dinwiddie (BKN)

Shooting Guard

James Harden (HOU): $12,000 vs. LAC

Chris Paul exited the game the other night with a leg injury and will not suit up for tonight's contest against the Clippers. This means that James Harden will shoulder the load and should be in line for a huge game against the Clippers. If having to choose between Harden and Westbrook for your lineup tonight, I give Harden the slight edge since there are several cheaper and viable options available at point guard compared to shooting guard. Also, Harden will be playing the role of point guard tonight and anytime we can roster three point guards in a single lineup, it is a huge advantage.

Eric Gordon (HOU): $5,400 vs. LAC

Another player who will benefit from the absence of Chris Paul is Eric Gordon. Gordon will enter the starting lineup tonight at shooting guard and he has been playing extremely well lately. In his last two games, Gordon has scored a total of 68.3 FanDuel points against the Lakers and the Jazz.

Other options to consider: C.J. McCollum (POR), Lou Williams (LAC), Wayne Ellington (MIA), Dion Waiters (MIA)

Small Forward

Jonathon Simmons (ORL): $6,500 vs. NOP

Jonathon Simmons has been my go-to small forward option over the past couple of weeks. Simmons had a down game his last time out against the Bulls. However, in his previous four games prior to that one Simmons averaged 39.6 FanDuel points per game.

Trevor Ariza (HOU): $6,100 vs. LAC

Another Rocket player who I really like tonight and should benefit from Chris Paul sitting out, is Trevor Ariza. Ariza ended up having a great game the other night after Paul exited, finishing with 48.7 FanDuel points. We cannot expect that type of ceiling from him tonight, but 35-40 FanDuel points is not unlikely either.

Other options to consider: Kevin Durant (GSW), P.J. Tucker (HOU), Andre Iguodala (GSW)

Power Forward

Draymond Green (GSW): $8,700 vs. LAL

Draymond Green will return from a shoulder injury tonight after missing the previous four games. With Steph Curry still out with an ankle injury, Green should be in line for an increase in usage against the Lakers, who have allowed the most FanDuel points to opposing power forwards this season.

Jordan Mickey (MIA): $4,200 vs. DAL

With all of the injuries to the Heat front court, Jordan Mickey has been an excellent value option over the past week. After receiving very little time in Erik Spoelstra's rotation, Mickey has seen at least 20 minutes of court time in three out of his past four games and has scored at least 20 FanDuel points in three games as well.

Other options to consider: Anthony Davis (NOP), Kelly Olynyk (MIA), Ryan Anderson (HOU)

Center

DeMarcus Cousins (NOP): $11,000 @ ORL

DeMarcus Cousins continues to put up elite numbers scoring no fewer than 23 points in each of his past six games. On top of that he is also averaging 11.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. Tonight he has a decent matchup against the Magic, who rank in the bottom third of the league against opposing centers.

Other options to consider: Andre Drummond (DET), Nikola Jokic (DEN), Nene (HOU)
