DFS NFL FanDuel Top Weekly Plays: (Week 11)

Welcome to the NFL FanDuel Week 11 Top Plays. I will highlight the best cash game, value plays, and GPP options with FanDuel’s scoring/salary in mind. These can typically be used on all sites, but use some common sense if another site scores differently or has a different salary. Remember, this is only a guide, and several factors may influence who you should select each day. Please keep in mind that unless noted, weather is not taken into account and with NFL action, it can be a factor.

Alex Smith (KC): $7,900 @ NYG
Alex Smith was rolling prior to the Chief’s bye week with the third-most FanDuel points for all quarterbacks. Andy Reid coached teams have been historically great after their bye and there is no reason to believe that trend will reverse against the 1-8 Giants who have really struggled against the pass this season.

Tom Brady (NE): $8,600 @ Oak (Mexico City)
The game between the Patriots and Raiders will be down in Mexico City which has an elevation 2,000 feet higher than Denver. The Patriots practiced at the Air Force Academy's athletic facilities this week which is at nearly the same elevation as the stadium in Mexico City. My guess is that the Patriots will operate at an extremely quick pace this week in attempt to really gas the Raider's defense. A quicker pace will likely lead to more passes attempted by Tom Brady and the current Patriots projected team total of 31.25 reflects this.

Other players to consider: Carson Wentz (PHI), Drew Brees (NO), Derek Carr (OAK)

Running Back

Kareem Hunt (KC): $8,600 @ NYG
Kareem Hunt started off his rookie season great with at least 100 yards in each of his first seven games. However, he has slowed down quite a bit over his past couple games and has not scored a touchdown since Week 3. I believe he gets back on track this week against the Giants who could be without two key pieces of their defensive line in Jason Pierre-Paul and Damon Harrison.

Mark Ingram (NO): $8,200 vs. WAS
The Saints have really changed their identity this season have become a run first offense with the two-headed monster of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. Ingram has led the charge averaging a total of 113.8 yards per game over his last five games while scoring seven touchdowns.

Chris Thompson (WAS): $6,800 @ NO
With Rob Kelley placed on IR, Chris Thompson should see a nice increase in his snap count. In the two game that Kelley missed earlier this season, Thompson had a one touchdown and a total of 326 yards on 24 carries and 10 receptions. The Saints have been decent against the run this season, but they have allowed the fourth-most receptions to opposing running backs this year.

Other players to consider: Melvin Gordon (LAC), LeSean McCoy (BUF), Rex Burkhead (NE)

Wide Receiver

Jarvis Landry (MIA): $6,800 vs. TB
Despite the return of Devante Parker in Week 9, Jarvis Landry has still seen seven and 10 targets in each of his past two games and has scored a touchdown in five of his last six games. Also, he has a pretty solid individual matchup against Vernon Hargreaves, who has struggled to contain opposing slot wide receivers this season.

Michael Crabtree (OAK): $7,500 vs. NE (Mexico City)
Malcolm Butler is likely going to be shadowing Amari Cooper in this game, so the preferred receiving option this week for the Raiders will be Michael Crabtree. This game with the Patriots is going to be shootout with the Raiders likely having to pass a lot to keep up with the Patriots. The Patriots have been playing a little better as of late on defense, but they still have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.

Larry Fitzgerald $6,900 @ HOU
The Cardinals may be making a switch of quarterbacks from Drew Stanton to Blaine Gabbert, but I am not too concerned for Larry Fitzgerald. He will continue to lead his team in targets on a consistent basis and this week he has an outstanding matchup against the Texans. Kareem Jackson is the slot cornerback for the Texans and he is the 103rd graded cornerback out 116by Pro Football Focus.

Other players to consider: Mike Evans (TB), Brandin Cooks (NE), Tyreek Hill (KC), Sterling Shepard (NYG), Bruce Ellington (HOU)

Tight End

Travis Kelce (KC): $7,500 @ NYG
It may seem excessive to play three Chief players in a format where you roster five players. However, the Chiefs are in an outstanding spot against the Giants and currently have the third-highest projected team total in Vegas this week. Travis Kelce has been great lately scoring a touchdown in each of his past three games.

Rob Gronkowski $8,200 @ OAK (Mexico City)
In GPPs I will definitely be pairing Brady/Gronk in a ton of my lineups. The Raiders have really struggled against opposing tight ends for a few years now and if the theory that the Patriots will be playing a fast pace this week, then surely Gronk will be in a prime spot to have a huge game.

Other players to consider: Zach Ertz (PHI), Evan Engram (NYG), Cameron Brate (TB), Tyler Kroft (CIN)

Possible options

  • Stephen Gostkowski (NE): $5,100 @ OAK (Mexico City)
  • Justin Tucker (BAL): $4,900 @ GB
  • Brandon McManus (DEN): $4,800 vs. CIN

Cardinals ARI @ HOU $4,600
Tom Savage has been awful since taking over for Deshaun Watson. With  Patrick Peterson shadowing DeAndre Hopkins, the Cardinals should be able to have their ways with the Texans this Sunday.

Broncos DEN vs. CIN $4,800
Honestly, both defenses are in play in this game, but I do prefer the Broncos slightly more than the Bengals. The Broncos have not been nearly as good lately, but to be fair they have had some tough matchups against really good offenses over their past four games. This matchup should be much better this week against Andy Dalton, who has really struggled in difficult matchups this season.
